Yesterday I had the cremes and shimmers from the Selena Gomez Collection; today I've got the glitters. All of these have a clear base, so I used them as layering polishes over the other Selenas.
I'm going to start with my second least favorite, Stars at Night, a silver holographic bar glitter that's very similar to Zoya Electra. I used two coats plus topcoat over Hit the Lights. This does throw off pretty colors; it's just too much bar glitter all in one place for my taste.
Mi Fantasía also has bar glitter, but it's much more agreeable to me as the bar glitter doesn't dominate. This has holographic bar glitter (the individual pieces look smaller than those in Stars at Night) and small blue violet glitter in a clear base. I used two coats plus topcoat over Love Song and quite liked the combination. I especially liked seeing the color shifts in the bar glitter; sometimes gold and green would dominate but other times a lot of rosy pink would show up.
The next four polishes are all mixes of hex and small glitter in various color combinations. Kissed at Midnight is gold and silver, with the gold tending to dominate overall. Swatches are two coats of it plus topcoat over Scarlett.
Confetti Fun has a whole bunch of colors in it—silver, green, red, blue, pink, and yellow were the ones I saw at first glance but there are probably more in there. This is not just another Lippmann Happy Birthday wannabe, though; What sets it apart is the tiny glitter in there along with all those hexes. Those little particles floating around among the bigger pieces give this a wonderful sparkle. I used two coats plus topcoat over Spring Break.
Sweet Dreams has turquoise, silver, and purple glitter; I paired it with Pretty in Plum, using two coats plus topcoat.
Inner Sparkle is dusty rose, lilac, and gold glitter. I swatched it at two coats plus topcoat over Selena.
The last polish in this half of the collection is Heavenly Angel, an iridescent mylar shredded glitter, similar to Color Club Covered in Diamonds. The base is a bit milky compared to the other glitters here, but it goes on clear. This is my least favorite of the group. It's pretty in the bottle, but on the nail it's a fight to get the pieces to lay flat (I might not care for all the bar glitter in Stars at Night, but it did at least not stick up all over everywhere). I ended up using three coats of Heavenly Angel (versus the two for all the others) to try and get a decent distribution of glitter shards on my nails. Then I added topcoat and had to go heavy on it to try and get all the bits to behave. The base color here is Naturally.
My picks from this group are Mi Fantasía, Inner Sparkle (yes, even though gold is not my thing), and Sweet Dreams, though I wouldn't kick Kissed at Midnight or Confetti Fun out of my stash, either.
