It's too early to say if the Nailtrition did its job on the peelies—five days wasn't enough for them to all grow out—but I think my nails did look better when I took it off than when I put it on. The directions say to use it for two weeks, applying every day, then take a week off, but I don't have the attention span for that right now.
This picture shows one of the things that bothers me about my nails—if I file them so the same length of tip is showing on each, different amounts of the tips of my fingers show. My ring finger is nubbiny while the others are merely shorties. I'm guessing that I might be the only one who notices this, though—except now I've pointed it out to all of you.
The free tips on my nails are the same way as yours and I didn't notice it on yours until you pointed it out, hee. On my big toes, the nail is attached pretty much up to the very end of the toe. Your nails look very healthy. Mine split so much I just keep them short.

ReplyDeletebut having quite a little collection of basecoats, topcoats that need to be used up, I think that'll have to wait for a bit.
I also heard that their nail rescue kit(not sure if you can use it for peelies or only on broken nails) is great and mine is on its way to me ^^

ReplyDeletejaljen, it definitely is possible to paint over this treatment; I was using it as my first base coat for a while before I tried following the directions and painting a new coat of it on every day. I'm not sure if it would have the same effect if I painted it over color, but I might have to experiment.

ReplyDeletetheallamenta, no worries--I'm sure peelies are called something else in Italian. :) Basically it's when the layers of the nail start to separate at the tip of the nail and the top layer or layers can peel up and flake off.
ReplyDeletePeelies are bad. :( I was anxious in the doctor's office earlier this week and noticed my nail polish chipped on my index finger so I decided to chip it off a little more for some reason and lifted a good chunk of the top layer off. No one understood why I looked like a kicked puppy all of a sudden. :( I use Nailtiques Formula II but it's expensive for a tiny bottle.
