Still Moody Redux

Can you stand one more entry in a row about the mood polishes? I hope so, because the peachy shimmer also known as Ten was my nails of the week. It seemed to be the most work appropriate shade, not that anyone in my office really cares about that. It was fun to watch my nails change color as the air conditioning vent above my desk started blowing or a meeting room warmed up after a bunch of us were sitting in that small space for a while. It was also kind of nice to have validation that yes, it really was too cold in my office when the AC got turned down—if my nails are entirely the cool color, it's time to put on a sweater even if it is the middle of summer and 90 degrees F outside.

I applied this on Sunday, over two coats of Instant Artificials and under a coat of Sally Hansen Insta Dri top coat. Wednesday morning I got my first chip. I touched it up and got through the day. Thursday brought more chipping; now four fingers were involved. Here are the worst of them (on my left hand, oddly enough—I'd think my right hand would take more abuse since I'm right handed, but maybe not):

I got home from work kind of late on Thursday, so I didn't want to do a whole polish change. Instead I touched up the chips and layered Sinful Deep Red Ocean over the top, thinking the glitter and odd sticky up flakies in that would distract from the imperfect base layers.

The mood polish did still change even under the added layers of flakies and another one of top coat, though the base color of the Sinful meant I never saw the pale peach again.

Since these are novelty polishes, I'm not surprised the wear wasn't that great. I'm still going to use them, just not for manis that I want to last more than a few days.

  5. That Sinful polish looks cool. At my Walgreens the Sinful polish is completely picked over. They really need to restock it.

  6. That peach is beautiful. I don't mind the chipping since I only wear polish for a few days.
