Pumpkin Polish

In a comment on my Halloween displays entry, Karina asked whether the glow in the dark polishes were just topcoats, and I thought rather than burying my answer in a comment, I'd show one of the pumpkins in action. I picked the greenish one, and put four thin coats on my index finger, three on my middle, two on my ring, and one on my pinky. As you see in the pic below, these are rather sheer.



When I took the multi-coat mani into the dark, the nails with the fewest coats glowed the least.



I then really slopped on the polish, building all my nails up to about six or seven coats (I know—that's a lot, but for a special occasion, I'll do it).



Taking that into the dark, I got much better glowing. If I'd had the patience to sit and really charge them up under the light, I probably would have had even better results.
