Henley Regatta Comparisons

When I swatched Butter London Henley Regatta, APE asked how it compared to China Glaze Atlantis. It took me a bit to find my bottle of Atlantis (it wasn't in the glitter drawer where it should have been) but I did, and today I can answer the question. In looking for Atlantis, I came across a few other glitters I wanted to sample so you'll see them as well. In this first set of photos, Massini Sexy Siren (this is now sold as Studio M Sexy Siren and is the same as Color Club Sexy Siren) and Milani Blue Flash join Atlantis and Henley Regatta.

This is three coats of each, except the Milani, which lived up to the "One Coat Glitter" tag line on the bottle. We obviously have two pairs here: Atlantis and Henley Regatta are very much on the green side of blue green and the other two are clearly blue. Despite my concerns when I first swatched it, Henley Regatta can be worn alone, as can Atlantis and Blue Flash. I think Sexy Siren needs "underwear" or maybe just a fourth coat.

Looking at Atlantis and Henley Regatta a little closer, the former has sparser and larger glitter with scattered sparks of holo as well as a more pigmented base. Both are great, but they're not interchangeable.

To finish up this swatching session, I swapped the two blues for blue greens that looked more like Atlantis in the bottle, Nicole by OPI Nicole ... Spotted (why an ellipse in the middle of the name, OPI? Why?) and Sinful Nail Junkie.

Oh my, we've got some sheerness going on with those last two, don't we? And the expensive brand is more sheer than the cheapie (each are three coats). They're pretty, but I'm not sold on visible nail line with colors like this so I'll be layering them. Fortunately, I love layering.

  1. As to the second comparison- they look so similar in bottles, but on nails- each of them is a different story ! I like Henley Regatta best.

  6. I have all mentioned except Massini (nut I have the CC one) and Butter London. I've never tried either and both aren't available locally. Maybe I'll get it online some time soon.

  7. Thanks for the great comparison! From their bottles, I never would've guessed they'd be so different.

  14. I think I like Regatta better than Atlantis because the glitter particles are smaller. I'll have to hunt around for this Butter London because it isn't in my regular store!

Thank you for reading and commenting! I greatly appreciate knowing I'm not just talking to myself here. :) I'm moderating most comments now due to the spate of spammers who claim to be looking for sexy times.
