Pumpkin Polish Glitters

I wanted to play with the pumpkin polishes, so grabbed two of them and my trusty Wet 'n' wild Wild Shine Black Creme and got to work.

I did one coat of black, one coat of the small round glitter, and one coat of the string glitter. It looked fun and festive, but before I put top coat on I realized the black base was probably not the best choice for these particular glitters. Why? Because they've both got black glitter in them, and that got pretty much completely lost. I suppose that's one way to deal with my uncertainty about black glitter—hide it. (I tend toward the "black glitter looks like pepper spilled on my nails" school of thought.)

Next time, I'm thinking a purple base, or charcoal, or rust. So many possibilities, so few mani changes left in the month!

Reminder: today is the last day to enter my Halloween Harvest Giveaway (new bottles of these two pumpkins are part of prize #6).

  1. OMG! It looks like a lumpy bumpy mess to me! Of course, no reflection against you my dear!! SO weird for a glitter fan such as yourself to have a problem with black glitter-

  3. I'm loving this! I love the pumpkin glitters. This is a great combo. I layered the black and orange glitter over a dark purple base and it looked really cool! I never took pics of it tho :/ ! Great post :)

  4. I like the idea of a purple base, even a green base would be neat!

  5. I need to get an orange glitter...I think there is a recent Sally Hansen one that looks good. I still haven't picked up a pumpkin glitter, either, and I should fix that :P

  12. I still don't like bar or black glitter. I don't know why but it bothers me! I think it's because I'm slightly anal and the bar glitter never looks nice and evenly distributed to me. I just can't take it!

And I actually never thought that black glitter looked like pepper on the nails, but now that's all I'm gonna think when I see it LMAO.

  19. I'm not a fan of bar glitters, but I think that a purple base will be great under these polishes.

  22. I made this mistake (well, for me it was an accident but maybe for you it was semi-intentional) of layering black glitter over black. Turns out, it's not very stunning ;)
