OPI Skyfall Collection: The Seductive Shades

OPI's holiday collection, Skyfall, a tie-in with the James Bond movie of the same name, has twelve shades, which OPI kindly sent for review. I've decided that's too many for one post, so today I've got the warmer half, which I've seen called the Seductive Shades in a magazine advertisement. Left to right below: Casino Royale, You Only Live Twice, Die Another Day, Skyfall, The Spy Who Loved Me, Goldeneye.

These colors seemed to pair up naturally when I looked at the bottles, so that's how I used them. All swatches today are two coats, no topcoat unless otherwise stated. First up, You Only Live Twice, a raspberry red flecked shimmer, with an accent nail of Casino Royale, a deep plum creme.

Why yes, I do have a low light shot of these:

Die Another Day, an orange red shimmer, and Skyfall, a deep brick creme, are up next.

Low light:

Finally, here's The Spy Who Loved Me, an orange red flecked shimmer, and Goldeneye, a warm gold microflakie. Goldeneye was three coats, and I was tempted to add a fourth.

Yep, you guessed it—low light:

My favorites from this half of the collection are You Only Live Twice and The Spy Who Loved Me; that flecked shimmer is just so pretty. Die Another Day is similar enough in color to The Spy Who Loved Me that I don't see one needing both, and the shimmer in Spy is more attractive to my eye. Casino Royale and Skyfall are fine, nicely pigmented cremes—it's just I feel like I have those colors already. Goldeneye is too unflattering for my skintone (and too similar to Sally Hansen Gilded Lily) for me to be tempted to buy it after I send these samples on to my review buddy Lucy.

Tune in tomorrow for the other half of this collection. Later in the week, I hope to have at least a few comparisons, but I might decide to spend that time on sleeping instead—I've been battling middle of the night insomia recently and when I do manage to get back to sleep I like to stay that way as long as possible (which unfortunately on work days is not long enough).

The polishes shown in this entry were provided free for review purposes. The content of the entry was not dictated by the provider.
