Wet Paint Nail Glaze System Returns

Last week, I shared the bounty of bottles Wet Paint sent for review and many combinations of those polishes plus the jellies they'd sent previously. Today I've got even more combinations.

Let's start simply, with the red creme Paint Wear Love being transformed into a shimmer with pink highlights with the addition of a layer of Pearly Girl, one of the special effects toppers. I left a tiny margin of the creme uncovered so you can see the transformation.

Of course I didn't stop there; I added two more Wet Paint colors to this look, the special effects micro glitter Crystal and the jelly Voice of Raisin.

One coat of Crystal and one coat of Voice of Raisin added to the Paint Wear Love/Pearly Girl combination gave me a sparkly burgundy. The pops of color from Crystal came through even in the indirect illumination of my light box.

In low light indoors, the burgundy looked darker and the sparkles popped even more:

In the sun, it was wine and rainbow sparkles:

For my next experiment, I started with a base of two coats of Girl Boss, the vibrant deep pink I showed on its own last time. I then added one coat of Jazzberry Jam, a deep purple jelly, and one coat of Carmel Breeze, the special effects shimmer topper with the blue sheen. This combination yielded an electric purple with plum undertones that I liked so much I stopped right there and didn't add any more layers.

I wanted to take Jazzberry Jam in a different direction with my next combination, so I put down two coats it as a base, then added a layer of Raincoat Slicker, the yellow jelly, which turned the purple a brownish burgundy. I topped that jelly on jelly look with one coat of Pearly Girl. The finished effect was a very autumnal looking wine shimmer.

Something interesting happened when I took my autumnal shimmer outside into the summer sun. At some angles, it looked like a plummy purple with tiny sparks of color coming off the shimmer (no glitter involved in this layering combo, remember).

At other angles, it looked brown, with pops of pink and gold. Seriously, this is the same polish as the photo above; I just tilted my hand.

At still other angles, it was a glowing burgundy.

In partial shade, I could see it range from brown to wine. I didn't think Pearly Girl was a multichrome, but it sure acted like one in this combination in these conditions.

I can definitely see myself wearing this combination as a full mani come fall. Early fall, when there's still some sunshine left when I leave the office so I can tilt my hand this way and that and see the colors shift.

I had the idea I'd be able to wrap up my Wet Paint report with this second installment, but nope, I'm more than a dozen photos in here and still have a bunch more combinations to share. Playing with these is so fun it was hard to stop. I just may be able to finish up my report from this play session in one more post, so look for that next week. In the meantime, you can browse all the Wet Paint colors on their website, which is also a shop. (Base colors are $6 per bottle and the the jellies and SPFX are $8.) There's also a Wet Paint Facebook page.

The polishes shown in this entry were provided free for review purposes. The content of the entry was not dictated by the provider, and I get to keep the polishes for my own use.

Thank you for reading and commenting! I greatly appreciate knowing I'm not just talking to myself here. :) I'm moderating most comments now due to the spate of spammers who claim to be looking for sexy times.
