Splash of Grenadine

I think this is a first for me: a nails of the day post when I'm still wearing the polish as I type about it. I put on Essie Splash of Grenadine on Sunday and like it so much I haven't taken it off yet—just refreshed it with Insta-Dri top coat this morning and am hoping it lasts the rest of the week. I'm rather surprised by how much I like this—when the Resort Collection came out I was much more interested in the other three colors but picked this one up anyway just to have a complete set (my dad liked to have complete sets of things, too, so no mystery where I got that trait).

This feels really right for the season here—bright and summery, but not too bright to wear to work. I also like that it balances right on the line between pink and purple—it's an interesting color, much more so than it appeared when I looked at the bottle. (It's close enough to purple that my camera got a bit confused by it, so I did a little color balancing on my photos.) I used only two coats—I wasn't planning to keep it on very long.

Here's a bonus shot of it several days after I put it on, after I'd done some painting and other household chores. The background is one of my current knitting projects—socks I've been working on on and off for months.
