Nicole by OPI Sea How Far You Go

Speaking of Nicole by OPI (we were, yesterday, remember?), here's one of my recent acquisitions from that brand, one of the Target exclusives, Sea How Far You Go. In the fluorescent lighting at the store, it looked to be a tarnished gold color; out of the store, it looked decidedly more olive green. It's one of those odd colors I'm drawn to. Here I am awkwardly holding the awkwardly-shaped bottle:

Here I am trying to show the bottom of the bottle; this is also an awkward pose, but it does show the pops of lime green in the shimmer.

I used three coats of this one. I'd describe the finish as an almost foil; it's the pops of color in the shimmer that are keeping me from just saying it's a foil. I sometimes wish there were a nail polish finish standards board that would tell me what's what.

The olive tones in this reminded me of China Glaze Out on Safari. I didn't think it would be a dupe, because Out on Safari is a shimmer/frost rather than a shimmer/foil, but I couldn't resist doing a quick comparison anyway.

Top to bottom: China Glaze, Nicole, China Glaze, Nicole.

I'm pretty certain I don't have another olive gold foil, so I'm feeling good about this stash addition despite the wonky bottle.

  1. I'm not a fan of greenish Polish..but I.think.I Like This one a lot because of the foily shimmer look. Another Polish to add to my wishlist. Your blog is bad for my pockets but great for my nails : -)

  8. I love this color!! I have so few NOPI. They come out with some gorgeous stuff, but I feel like they cost too much money. :(

Also, is anyone else frustrated that they would redesign the brush and keep that disgusting bottle. Nobody was complaining about the brush!! -____-

  11. LOL at your comment on the bottle...I feel the same way!

It's quite unique eh? I think I described the finish for this one as a metallic foil or something like that. It's a funny one for sure.

  12. Very nice color. And I love the comparison and was wondering, if the Nicole was somewhat sheer, what it would look like layered over the ChG? No need to do it, was just thinking about it when I saw the two.

  14. Not sure about this one. I have bought a couple of Nicole polishes and didn't like a single one. They're 'wishy-washy'.
