Recent NOTD: Blue on Blue

I've managed to get weeks behind on my nails of the day posts again; the "recent" in the title here means nearly a month ago. Fortunately I have my trusty notebook to remind me of the details. In this case, it's Milani Sail Away with Icing All Night Long added to accent nails.





Sail Away is one of the new colors Milani introduced this spring. It first showed up in a special display with other new colors, but I've since seen it in the core displays at some stores. It's a deep blue packed with silver shimmer flecks, and I only needed one coat of it. I was amazed and nearly did a second coat just out of habit even though there was no need for it.



All Night Long is one of the Icing polishes I got in my mega swap with the Canadian Nail Fanatic (a.k.a. mrsrexy) a while back. It's a mix of hex and small glitter in silver and blues (some tending toward purple) in a clear base. I used two coats for the accent nails. The blue glitter got a bit lost against Sail Away; next time I use it I'll have to try a more contrasting base under it.



And just now, as I come to the end of this entry, do I realize that this is going to be a Blue Monday post, a la Nails Beautiqued. I'm not especially blue today, just more tired than usual as it was a three-day weekend for me and I let my sleep schedule get all messed up. Obviously this has made my brain a bit sluggish, but thanks to my friends caffeine and sugar I should be able to make it through.
