Today I've got all six polishes in the Lovely collection from Zoya. These are all pastels; half are shimmers and half are cremes. Together, the colors remind me of mint candies that one would get as a favor at a wedding or baby shower—delicate and yummy. I was so looking forward to trying these that I failed to notice one of the bottles got turned back to front in the group photo taken before swatching commenced. Left to right: Piaf, Gei Gei, Julie, Blu, Neely, and Jacqueline. Most of these were previously included in the limited edition sets that came out last fall in conjunction with designers Peter Som and Zang Toi for New York Fashion Week. (These re-issues are perfectly fine by me, since I missed those sets completely).
Jacqueline is described by Zoya as a "perfect Magnolia nude cream"; this was previously part of the Peter Som limited edition trio. I don't have much experience with magnolias; this reminds me of manila folders, a light yellow with a beige undertone. Swatch is three thin coats, no topcoat.
Neely is a mint green creme; it was also part of the Peter Som trio. I used two coats of this one.
Blu is, not surprisingly, blue, a clear pastel creme. This is the one color in the collection that wasn't part of the limited edition Fashion Week sets. I used three coats of it, but almost stopped at two.
The other half of the trio are all shimmers; the sort of shimmers that Zoya calls "metallic" and I call "micro flakie" or "flecked". These were all originally released as Zang Toi colors for Fashion Week.
Piaf is a muted forsythia yellow. I used three coats.
GeiGei is a cool-toned pink shimmer. The swatch is three coats.
Julie is a pale purple shimmer. I used two coats of this one, but think it would have been better with three.
These were so fresh and yummy that I had to do some playing after I'd swatched them. Here's Neely with tips done in the shimmers:
And here's Blu with an accent of Neely, both dotted with the shimmers:
Those last two swatches do have top coat on them, to smooth out the art.
My favorites from this collection are Blu, Julie, and, surprising to me since it's yellow, Jacqueline. What are your picks?

Your swatches are awesome :) Love the cremes but not sure about the shimmers !
ReplyDeleteI don't usually think pastels look good on me, but I might be tempted into trying Julie!
ReplyDeleteLined up, they *totally* remind me of Jordan Almonds! These are such pretty, Easter-y pastels, and I love the cute art looks you did with them! The cremes are my favourites, but I really like those pretty shimmers too!
ReplyDeleteI'm not really feeling these colors, except maybe the pink. Although they do look nice as polka dots on the white. That's pretty adorable.
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing really outstanding about these colors that says buy me and take me home, but yet they are all good solid pastels that definitely should be in your stash. I think though that I might pick up Julie as I haven't any pale purples quite like it and I do love the shimmer it has. Piaf is pretty too for the same reason, the pretty shimmery goodness.
ReplyDeleteOhhhh I like them. Your last two fun manis totally tipped me over the edge into wanting these for Easter!!!! I of course NEED Julie.
ReplyDeleteI really like neely! Love love your polka dot mani!!
ReplyDeleteLove Gei Gei and Julie!! So eastery!!
ReplyDeleteLove the dot mani! These are perfect colours for spring!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! I love the pastel shades!
ReplyDeleteSo soft and delicate! Love these swatches!!
ReplyDeleteI love them all, but Jacqueline and Blu are special.
ReplyDeleteI'm too impatient to wait for Zoya's to dry before I can paint nail art on them, but I do love their colors...
I like all of them. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I have the Zang Toi trio and love Julie so much. Neely and Blu are on their way to me. I love the polka dot mani you did.
ReplyDelete*gasp!* The only one I'm not really feeling is Jacqueline.... both because of the color and the name.... meh I absolutely love your shimmery tips!! :D
ReplyDeletezoya blue *.*
ReplyDeleteI need more Zoyas!
ReplyDeleteLove your funky frenches!! It sucks when polish companies act like these Peter Som colors were limited edition and caused a frenzy to buy them and now they are repackaged as Spring-seems to me these are a lot like the Lime Crime set-but I do like the shimmer in the last three!
ReplyDeleteI love Julie and Neely the most! :) Your french tips are really cute too!
ReplyDeleteThey all look so pretty, but I love Blu the most <3
