Wheel M8: Glitters from Lynnderella, Shattered, and Black Cat Lacquer

I shared the Lynnderella story last week, so we won't rehash that. I filled out this wheel with my single glitter from Shattered, a brand I can't seem to find any information about, and a quintet from Black Cat Lacquer.

(Lynns three coats plus topcoat; Shattered and Black Cat are two coats plus topcoat)

1. Lynnderella 50 Shades of May-Be
2. Lynnderella Connect the Dots
3. Lynnderella Inner Space
4. Lynnderella Pentimento
5. Lynnderella Golden Rules
6. Lynnderella A Neutral Party
7. Lynnderella Glass Houses
8. Lynnderella Common Sense
9. Lynnderella Kabbalah Bracelet
10. Lynnderella The Garden of Even
11. Lynnderella Salad Days
12. Lynnderella I Don't Mean Rhinestones
13. Lynnderella Deep Blue Seeing
14. Lynnderella When the Moon Was a Star
15. Shattered unknown shade [I'm not sure if this always had a sheer purple base or if the glitter has bled]
16. Black Cat Lacquer Black Hole
17. Black Cat Lacquer Oceans
18. Black Cat Lacquer Tetris
19. Black Cat Lacquer Rainbow Brite
20. Black Cat Lacquer Let Them Eat Cake

Destash notes: I'm pretty sure I've already sold some of these Lynns. I'm keeping the other ones, at least for now. Someday I'm not going to be able to deal with having hundreds and hundreds of bottles of polish. Maybe when I move into a retirement home I'll do my big destash.

Wheel L8: Glitters from Lynnderella and Girly Bits

It's the triumphant return of Nail Wheel Wednesday after over a year! Well, the return, anyway. Today it's glitter polishes from Lynnderella and Girly Bits. Lynnderella was one of the early indie nail polish brands, and one that had a fair bit of drama surrounding it for a while. That drama, and the way the maker was personally awful to a friend of mine, put me off the brand. With so many other options around, I never bought any more Lynns and started selling off the ones I had, though not before painting them on wheels—I think this the the third of four that had some Lynns on it. (The friend I felt bad for ended up disappointing a fair few folks later herself, so I don't even know.) All that said—and I suspect I've said it before but am dealing with a wonky internet connection today so can't look it up—the polishes are still interesting; enough time has passed that I might start wearing the ones I have left. The other brand on this wheel, Girly Bits, is another fairly early indie brand, one about which I've never heard any major drama. I haven't bought many from her recently but not for lack of wanting to, just from guilt over having so many polishes I haven't touched and my much smaller hobby budget in retirement. I'm glad I have some of these early Girly Bits, back when she was using paper labels and bottles with gems on them.

(Lynns three coats plus topcoat; Girly Bits are two coats plus topcoat)

1. Lynnderella Ghost of a Chance
2. Lynnderella Shape Shifter
3. Lynnderella The Stars in Her Eyes [this might be my favorite Lynn; so pretty and delicate]
4. Lynnderella Early Halloween
5. Lynnderella Witch Cauldron Was It
6. Lynnderella UnDead Red
7. Lynnderella Love Potion No. 99.9
8. Lynnderella VamPink
9. Lynnderella Very Pretty Vampire
10. Lynnderella Evermore
11. Lynnderella Night Shade
12. Lynnderella Once in a Blue Rune
13. Lynnderella The Bride Turned Blue [the camera shows some of the glitters as yellow when the eye does not perceive them that way]
14. Lynnderella She Lived in a Swamp
15. Girly Bits Magically Delicious
16. Girly Bits Hippity Hop [my favorite of these Girly Bits, though Magically Delicious comes a close second]
17. Girly Bits Promise Me
18. Girly Bits Canadian Eh
19. Girly Bits Vive la Revolution
20. Girly Bits Star Spangled

Destash notes: I'm not entirely sure which of the Lynnderellas I've already gotten rid of. The Girly Bits I pretty much want to keep all of, though I could be persuaded to part with 19 and 20 because I have so many other red, white, and blue glitters.

Wheel U7: Glitters from Lynnderella and Others

I was determined to do better with Nail Wheel Wednesday in March, a resolve which lasted one week until I skipped posting. Work is just so busy—but only for another three months or so, as I have decided to retire at the end of June, joining Mr. Karen in a life of leisure and home improvement and stuff (he's wrapping up at his job at the end of this month).

Today I have more glitters from Lynnderella plus some other indie brands and a mainstream but not readily available to me line to round things out.

(coats as noted below plus topcoat)

1. Lynnderella Snow Angel (3 coats)
2. Lynnderella All Hallow's Eve (3)
3. Lynnderella Bibbitty Bobbity Boo Blue (3)
4. Lynnderella Mercurial [older version] (3)
5. Lynnderella Mercurial [newer version] (3)
6. Lynnderella Mercury's Rainbow (2)
7. Lynnderella Connect the Dots (3)
8. Lynnderella Love, Lace, and Lilacs (3)
9. Lynnderella Shape Shifter (3)
10. Lynnderella Change (3)
11. Nerd Lacquer Crunchy Frog (3)
12. Nerd Lacquer It's Just a Flesh Wound (3)
13. Nerd Lacquer Pinin' for the Fjords (3)
14. Twee & Honey 006 (3)
15. Twee & Honey Magpie (3)
16. Twee & Honey 016 (2)
17. Twee & Honey First World Purple (2)
18. Cult Nails Happy Ending (3)
19. Essence Nail Art Special Effect Topper Copper'ize Me (3)
20. Essence Nail Art Special Effect Topper Glorius Aquarius (3)

Destash notes: Same comments apply to these Lynns as to the ones two weeks ago. The Nerd Lacquers will quite possibly be with me on my deathbed, at least Pinin' for the Fjords, which is my favorite on this whole wheel. Twee & Honey is a brand I lost track of; I need to look it up again, as I very much like their bold take on black and white glitter and of course the purple on purple. Hmm, this is sounding more like "stash notes", not destash. I guess I could give up a couple of these T&H to get new ones—which isn't exactly destashing, either. Maybe when I'm retired I'll get better at giving up polish. Not sure how that will work, but I've never been retired before, so who knows what surprises are ahead of me.

Wheel T7: Glitters from Lynnderella

I am determined to do better with Nail Wheel Wednesday this month than last, so here I am with 20 glitters from Lynnderella, a brand with which I had a brief affair before the drama got to be too much for me.

(all 3 coats plus topcoat)

1. Lynnderella Matter of the Heart
2. Lynnderella Heart Strings
3. Lynnderella Liquid Valentine
4. Lynnderella The Telltale Heart
5. Lynnderella Boy Girl Party
6. Lynnderella Lucky Numbers
7. Lynnderella Choco Lotta Love
8. Lynnderella Sweets to the Sweet
9. Lynnderella Gotta Love Brains
10. Lynnderella Nosegay
11. Lynnderella LavenDear
12. Lynnderella Lovey Dovey
13. Lynnderella Bride of Franken
14. Lynnderella Love Potion No. 99
15. Lynnderella Mlle Violette de Bleu
16. Lynnderella Forget You Not
17. Lynnderella Thank Blue
18. Lynnderella I Can Afford It
19. Lynnderella Funny Money
20. Lynnderella The Glittering Crowd

The bottles somehow got seriously out of order before they got their photos taken, which in this case isn't a big problem since the names are right there on the front.

Destash notes: Much as I love glitters, and as unique as many of these are, I've already destashed some of them, since I wasn't wearing them and looking at them just reminded me of some uncomfortable drama among a group of my nail friends related to the brand. That's a problem I have: objects get associated in my head with emotions and that either makes me hang onto things longer than reasonable (old clothes, especially) or get rid of them when they're still useful.
