Wheel Y13: Drugstore Glitters, Part 3

Today for Nail Wheel Wednesday, I have the third wheel in the drugstore glitter series (the previous one is here). This one is all pink, including some multis that include pink. And this one includes Sation polishes, unlike the first two wheels, and Sations are more beauty supply store than drugstore, but I liked how they fit on here.

(all have clear topcoat in addition to glitter coats noted below; some will need more/thicker topcoat if I decided to wear these in a full mani) 1. Mardi Gras unnamed (3 coats)
2. Black Radiance Girls Rock Pink Couture (3)
3. Nabi Pink Star Moon (3) [the glitter in this one appears to have mostly dissolved, though there are a few ghostly cresent moons still in evidence]
4. Mardi Gras unnamed (3)
5. Mardi Gras unnamed (3)
6. Mardi Gras unnamed (3)
7. Sation Confessions of a Nail Tech (2)
8. Sation Starlight Covers (3)
9. Sation Starlight Covers [newer version of #8] (3)
10. Sation I Love Miss-Self (2)
11. Savina Summer Fun (2 over black base)
12. Mardi Gras unnamed (2)
13. Mardi Gras unnamed (3)
14. Mardi Gras unnamed (3)
15. XOXO unnamed (3)
16. XOXO unnamed (3)
17. Mardi Gras unnamed (3)
18. Mardi Gras unnamed (3)
19. Mardi Gras unnamed (2 over half black base)
20. Sation Glints & Glam (3)

Wheel U13: Drugstore Glitters, Part 1

I noticed I had a whole bunch of glitter polishes I'd picked up from brands that would show up for a short while at drugstores and grocery stores and other mass market retail outlets before disappearing seemingly forever. I had enough to do several episodes of Nail Wheel Wednesday. Today is the first installment, featuring mostly cool-hued shades from Nabi, Mardi Gras, and Savina (bottles and caps appear to be identical to Mardi Gras). Frustratingly, the Mardi Gras don't have shade names, which is probably why when I was sorting these, I found two bottles of the same glitter; when I was going around to different stores buying them, I couldn't check my spreadsheet to see if I already had that shade name. Ah well, at least they were cheap so I didn't waste much money.

(all have clear topcoat in addition to glitter coats noted below; some will need more/thicker topcoat if I decided to wear these in a full mani)

1. Nabi Green Land (3 coats) [this and all the other Nabi have strong chemical smell]
2. Mardi Gras unnamed (3) [would look better over a dark base, I think]
3. Mardi Gras unnamed (3)
4. Mardi Gras unnamed (3)
5. Savina Blue Ice (3)
6. Savina Sparkling Water (3)
7. Mardi Gras unnamed (2)
8. Mardi Gras unnamed (3)
9. Nabi Abysis (3) [I assume they meant "Abyss" but that's not what the label says)
10. Mardi Gras unnamed (3)
11. Mardi Gras unnamed (2)
12. Nabi Sky Twinkle (3) [this appears to have deteriorated quite a lot in storage; I remember it being much more dense with glitter and now it really doesn't twinkle at all, so I guess a lot of the glitter just disssolved?]
13. Mardi Gras unnamed (3)
14. Mardi Gras unnamed (2)
15. Mardi Gras unnamed (3)
16. Mardi Gras unnamed (3)
17. Mardi Gras unnamed (3)
18. Mardi Gras unnamed (3) [I was impressed that the big square glitters did not need to be fished for]
19. Mardi Gras unnamed (3)
20. Savina Gold Flecks (2)

Wheel Q8: Magnetics from Nabi and Barry M

Today I've got the rest of my Nabi magnetics that didn't fit on last week's wheel, plus a quartet from Barry M.

(all are two coats; usual caveat about the awkwardness of using the magnets on tips that are not on movable fingers applies)

1. Nabi Lavanda II
2. Nabi Cloud
3. Nabi Baby Green
4. Nabi Mystique
5. Nabi Sky Blue
6. Nabi Ocean Blue
7. Nabi Silver [I like the sparkle in this one]
8. Nabi Black
9. Nabi Lime
10. Nabi Dark Gold [my favorite on this wheel, and I don't even like gold usually]
11. Nabi Khaki
12. Nabi Candid [probably my second favorite; I like the cool/warm contrast the magnet makes]
13. Nabi Green
14. Nabi Dark Green [almost wonder if I got a mislabelled bottle here, as doesn't seem much different than 13; the lines brought out by the magnet are a little lighter in this is all I see to distinguish it]
15. Nabi Teal [I'd call this dark green, not teal, but it's lovely regardless of the name]
16. Nabi Navy Blue
17. Barry M Burgundy
18. Barry M Violet
19. Barry M Blue
20. Barry M Dark Silver

Bottles 1 through 5:

6 through 10:

11 through 16:

17 through 20:

Destash notes: Just looking at this wheel alone, I don't see a lot of room to get rid of things. Maybe 11 and 14 could go. I'll need to stack these up against other brands' magnetics to really get a good overview of where I have excess.

Wheel P8: Warm Hues of Nabi Magnetics

The first time I posted a nail wheel full of magnetics (Wheel H8), I explained how I went a little crazy buying them when they came on the US market in large numbers a few years back. Today I have Exhibit 2 to support the charge of excessive magnetic indulgence: 20 polishes from Nabi in warm colors (the cool colors, and an overflow warm one or two, are on another wheel that I hope to share next week).

(all are two coats; due to the awkwardness of using the magnets on tips that are not on movable fingers, full magnetic effect was not consistently achieved)

1. Nabi Lavender [the names on these are often not what I would call that color, or not spelled correctly, or both, but I'm sure I wouldn't do any better if I were tasked with naming polishes in a language I barely know, which is what I suspect happened with these]
2. Nabi Mocha
3. Nabi Rose
4. Nabi Pinkle [love the name, don't love the brushstrokey-ness]
5. Nabi Pink [the speckled/flecked ones are my favorites]
6. Nabi Cinnamon
7. Nabi Blue Berry [the flecks in this are especially interesting, with both blue and copper]
8. Nabi Purple [not sure what's going on with the bubbling here; should try re-swatching this because I like the color]
9. Nabi Pink Rose
10. Nabi Red
11. Nabi Splash [see what I mean about the names? splash? splash of what? red wine?]
12. Nabi Black Berry
13. Nabi Tawny
14. Nabi Wine
15. Nabi Lilac
16. Nabi Natural
17. Nabi Cappucinno [love this with and without the effect of the magnet]
18. Nabi Dark Wine [nice speckles in this one, too]
19. Nabi Walnut
20. Nabi Dark Purple

Destash notes: There is definitely room to shed some of these. 13, 15, and 19, I'm looking at you; I don't need all three of you. 9 and 10 and 12? Same deal. All the speckled ones get to stay, though.
