No Nail Wheel, Just Displays

Nail Wheel Wednesday should return next week; this week I've got a few displays I've seen while out and about in the months since I last shared displays. I'm still not back to my old display hunting habits (and don't think I ever will be but who knows), but do have to go into stores that have nail polish along with other things and sometimes I see things to take photos of.= Let's kick things off with the three displays of Ardell Nail Addict fake nails I saw at Fred Meyer. There were some interesting things here I hadn't seen in fake nails before. This first display featured Flash & Sparkle nails, which have reflective glitter applied to them in different patterns. Tucked in center back there is a set of Ecofab, the box for which says they're "plant based" and "100% biodegradable". I guess those are something like the compostable cutlery offered at some places as a plastic alternative?

 

The second Ardell display had another two things I hadn't seen in fake nails before. The Sun Kissed sets are like solar polishes, changing color in the sun. The Eco Mani sets are made from recycled plastic.

 

The last display had sets similar to ones I'd seen from other brands but they were still pretty. These are called Velvet. At first I thought that meant a physical texture, but it's meant to evoke the visual texture of velvet fabric that shimmers and shifts. Similar to some magnetic polishes.

 

There was a China Glaze collection for Pride (I assume, what with the rainbow colors and Love Is Love tagline) at Fred Meyer. A bold/neon twist on traditional Pride flag colors. Left to right: Flame-boyant, In the Lime Light (not yellow-leaning enough to be lime in my book but ok), Tropic Like It's Hot, Summer Reign, Orange Knockout, Crushin' on Blue.

 

This Dashing Diva display at Ulta caught my eye. The top shelf has semi-cured gel strips, both pedicure and manicure versions, with an emphasis on the glazed donut look for the latter. The middle shelf has the no-light/no curing needed strips like the ones I used back in March,

 

A Walgreens had what I assume is the Essie summer collection, Push Play. Bold colors with neutral accents here. Left to right: Grass Never Greener, Press Play, Sunshine Be Mine, Start Signs Only, Climbing High, and In My Sandbox.

 

Ulta had the Push Play collection, too, though in a slightly different display (not pictured as it wasn't that different from the one above). They also had the Essie Vintage Vanity collection, which was tagged "New + Only Here". In front, left to right: Born to Adorn, Vintage Vanity, Pretty in Pearls, and Unhidden Gem. In back: Primp & Powder, Not So Naturale.

 

At a Fred Meyer store in Washington, I saw a display of the Hip Chic semi-cured gel strips that, unlike the ones at the Idaho store I go to most often, weren't on clearance. These were all designs I hadn't seen at my store, so maybe it was just old sets that were being clearanced and there's a display like this I missed there? In addition to the strips, this display had cuticle oil and something called "fresh serum", which I guess a treatment.

 

The OPI sections of the big nail unit at the Ulta I was in were poorly stocked and of course poorly lit for photos. I guess the summer collection is called Summer Make the Rules.

 

When I was on my road trip last month, I stopped in a Five Below and saw this display for Pretty Woman Stardust collection. Some of these were really tempting, but I told myself I have similar polishes at home. Left to right: Intergalatic (deep blue shimmer with purple flash), Eternity (burgundy shimmer with gold flash), Break the Silence (deep teal shimmer), Stardust (gold glitter topper), Black Shadow (deep charcoal shimmer), and Looks Can Kill (rosy red shimmer with peach flash).

 

My old friend Sally Hansen has slowed down some, but she's still putting out limited edition collections, like this year's Pride offering, which I saw at Fred Meyer. It's called Pride & Shine, though that's hard to see since come cretins painted over that part. Mischievous kids or bigots? In north Idaho, it's hard to know who did it. I did have to rearrange bottles to get the front row stocked with the main rainbow colors, plus two of the trans ones. Left to right: Cherry-ish You, Healing Feeling, Sunshine Shimmers, Petal Dance, Blue Serenity, Berry Spirited, Someone Like Blue, and Pinky Please. There are a few more that didn't fit into the front row: Pearl Treasure (white), Espresso Yourself (brown), and Bold Rush (black).

 

I later saw a Pride & Shine display at Ulta, which only had a box set of the trans colors: Someone Like Blue, Pinky Please, and Pearl Treasure. There were prices listed for two other sets, a duo and a six-pack, but those appeared to be sold out. The display card had circles with twelve different colors, all the ones I'd seen at Fred Meyer plus one I hadn't noticed that appeared to be a glitter topper.

 

So I'm a bit bummed about the nearly empty display then round the corner and find the missing two sets just sitting on top of the big nail polish unit. The duo has the mysterious glitter in it, Get GLAAD, and Pearl Treasure. The six-pack is a ROYGBV (no indigo) rainbow. No idea where the black and brown came into Ulta's display; they're in those color circles on the card but doesn't seem there was a place for them in the display. Odd. Also odd is that I failed to notice the glitter was in the Fred Meyer display, three bottles of it in the back. I guess I saw the Peeps white also thrown in there and figured it was an old polish from another collection. I'm slipping.

 

Sally Hansen has another collection out now in the Miracle Gel line. This is a collaboration with the Keith Haring foundation/estate and has cremes in it. Left to right: Go Figures, Sketched in Stone, Red-iant Baby, Writing on the Walls, Colour Instinct, Contempor-airy, Blanc Canvas. There were also top coats in the display. Looking at this photo, I might have to see if I can find Go Figures to buy; it's a fairly unusual shade and I like that they changed the color of the Miracle Gel logo on the bottle for this one (and the black and the white, but I sure have enough of those creme shades in my stash).

 

This past weekend, I saw a display for the W7 brand at Fred Meyer. I didn't take the time to document the names, as I was in bit of a rush getting to a party (not so much of one I didn't swing through the beauty aisles, obviously). These looked to be cremes, and the shade range was mostly "safe" colors with a few pops of blue and yellow, but I'm all for more mainstream polish, so I did stop and look. Plus they're priced at only $2.99 so yay for a more afforadable option.

 

I wonder if there will be another resurgence of mainstream/drugstore brands. Or has the business landscape changed too much and we'll never get back to the number of brands and collections there were before. I still plan to be the lady in the assisted living home with wild nails, but I have enough polish in my collection to make that happen regardless of what's in stores decades from now.

Great Lakes and Other Displays

While I was on hiatus, I took a trip to Wisconsin via Chicagoland and took advantage of being in a more display-rich environment to do some hunting through various aisles to see what nail products I could see. Combine those with the ones I spotted closer to home before and after my trip, and we've got ourselves a display post. (My last one was the day before I went on my latest blogging hiatus.)(And yes, I did mean to get this up last week, but I decided not to stress myself out about that.) I was rather overwhelmed by the Claire's I went to in Wisconsin ... so much stuff in so small a space. Nothing jumped out at me from the polish rack, but I did stop to look at the fake nails. The sign on top of the display unit said they were new "100% vegan faux nails". I don't think that means they're plant-based, just that there aren't any animal products in them. I didn't buy any since they were all longer than I prefer (though could be cut down I'm sure) and were all glue ons when I prefer press on (and yes I do have some sets of press on tabs I can use with glue ons but I have so many sets of fakes already).

 

I also paused at the sets for Claire's caviar nails and velvet nails. I thought these trends were well behind us for a while, but here they are, back again. Life comes at you fast, I guess.

 

I saw something fun at Fred Meyer: a set of Crayola glitter polishes in bottles with pointy caps to look like the ends of crayons. I thought these were super cute, but did not buy them because I know based on past experience that I wouldn't reach for them, I just want to look at the pretty colors. And I can do that with this photo.

 

I feel like I should have seen Ulta Essie (Un)guilty Pleasures for Winter 2022 earlier than I did, but here it is now. The display at Ulta . The display at Meijer (same as the one I also saw at Fred Meyer) had the same shades, but only five of them were featured on the card next to them.

 

For Valentines 2023, Essie put out the U Wish collection, which I saw at Ulta. Six shades here, all with silver flames/hearts on the caps. In front: U Wish (two slots), License to Thrill (two slots), Burning Love (two slots), Flirt with Freedom. In back: Fuel Your Desire (two slots), No Ex-pectations (two slots).

 

The Essie Spring 2023 collection is Feel the Fizzle. I found it first at Walgreens, then later at Ulta in a slightly different shelf top display. It does look like spring, with all those pretty pastels. Left to right: Ride the Soundwave, Feel the Fizzle (the only non-creme in the collection; looks like a fun topper), Don't Burst My Bubble, In the You-niverse, It's High Time, and You're Scent-sational.

 

A closer look at Feel the Fizzle, which I was sorely tempted to buy even though I'm 99% certain I have something very similar in my collection already.

 

At Ulta, I also saw some new shades in the Essie Gel Couture line, the Fashion Fête collection. Left to right: Hats Off, Fashion Fête, Sundressed to Impress, Brimming with Bubbly, Stilettos on Standby, and Sunday Best.

 

At a Five Below, I saw four shades of Fresh Paint pearly shimmers in a tray with slots for three colors. No display card to tell me if these are a collection and if so what it's called: Hole-some Content, Glazed and Confused, Donut Stop Believing, and Seriously Dough. Maybe a Glazed Donut collection?

 

Walgreens had some fancy Kiss Majestic nail sets I'd not seen before. The set on top is called Lovely Bubbly and the one on the bottom is Your Grace. The package says they're reusable up to three times, which I guess takes a bit of the sting out of the $17.99 price tag if that's true.

 

One of the Ultas I visited had a section with the Nailtopia polishes celebrating Disney 100. Not sure it they were still in the process of stocking it or many had already sold out; I'm guessing the former since popular characters were still there. Here are the full size ones (12ml): Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, (empty spot for Daisy Duck), Pluto, Goofy, Peter Pan, and Tinker Bell (not Tinkerbell). There was an empty section next to this with spots for the minis (5ml) Winnie the Pooh (yellow), Piglet (darker pink), Elsa (lighter pink), Olaf (light blue), Anna (wine), Alice in Wonderland (light blue), Cheshire (purple), Simba (golden yellow), Dumbo (silver), and Stitch (blue).

 

I know I've mentioned it before, but it's still true: I pay was less attention to OPI releases since Ulta starting putting them only in the big white aisle unit. I want standalone displays that show what's in the collection and only that. But I'm not going to get that at Ulta, so here's OPI Me Myself and OPI for spring 2023 in all its backlit, shelved right next to core colors glory.

 

Also in the backlit display at Ulta: some Orly polishes labelled "colors that pop exclusively at Ulta": Connect the Dots, Kitsch You Later, Claim to Fame, Ceci N'est Pas Blanc, Ephemeral (sold out), Touch of Magic, and Just an Illusion.

 

Ulta also had the Orly NASA collection, thank goodness in much better lighting on an endcap. There are four polishes and four nail strip designs featuring photos from the space telescope with an unfortunate name. The display says "only here", but I've since seen these polishes on the Orly website.

 

The polishes: Spirit of Peace, Golden Record, View from L2, Perseverance.

I'm not 100% sure the spring-like shades of Poparazzi I saw at CVS in the spot where seasonal shades have been before are new, but I snapped their photo anyway. Left to right: Mermaid Daze, Born Like This, Do You Pink About Me, and Vitamin Sea.

 

The one not too picked over Pretty Woman display I saw at Five Below stores on my trip was called Dramatic Darks. The shade names printed on the display are Forbidden, Firefly, Oh I Say, Ravenous, Deep Winter, and Dark Royalty. Only five of the six were there and I'm not sure if the shades match the names or not (they weren't printed on the bottles and I can't find them on either the Pretty Woman website or Five Below's).

 

In my last display post, I shared the first sets of Sally Hansen Salon Effects Perfect Manicure fake nails I'd seen. There were only two shapes: square and oval. A few days after I'd posted those, I spotted some sets in almond and coffin shapes on a mixed brand display near the front of a Walgreens. Left to right: Needing Space (almond), Meet Me in the Metal (coffin), ASAP Apple (almond; solid color though the pic looks different due to reflections I think). I peeked on the Sally Hansen site and there are other designs/colors available in these shapes; I just haven't seen them in person yet.

 

Deeper into that same Walgreens, I saw more Sally Hansen Perfect Manicure sets nestled in their own section on the core display wall. All of these designs were either square or oval. Top row (square): Get Mod, Pink Clay, Sugar Fix, Block Party, What a Star, Check Please. Bottom row (oval): Buff & Tumble, O-zone You Didn't, Beet Pray Love, Ombre-lievable, Swoop There It Is, Outside the Line.

 

At a different Walgreens, I saw a display with the Sally Hansen Perfect Manicure nails plus some new Insta Dri shades and some Good Kind Pure shades. The nails were mostly the oval and square shapes, with a couple of almond ones mixed in. Based on an empty display section I saw at Ulta, I believe the Insta Dri shades are the Getaway collection: Catch Me If You Clam (orange), Beach You To It (darker orange), Traveling Light (orchid, slot taken here by another shade), Up In the Clouds (light blue), Slow M-ocean (slate blue), Mint Me in St. Louis (turqoise), C-hill Out (dark green), Later Alligator (deep olive green). I'm not sure if the Good Kind Pure shades are a collection or not. My detail photos are fuzzy, but I think these are the shade names based on matching up the blurry text in my photos with the Sally Hansen website: Almond Milk, Cashew Butter, Roasted Chestnut, Sweet As Sugar, Carrot Cake, Natural Red, Blueberry Tart, Matcha Love.

 

At Walmart, I saw an endcap with the Sally Hansen Perfect Manicure nails and Miracle Gel polishes, with an extra InstaDri bit that I wasn't sure belonged there. The nails assortment had all four shapes.

 

The top two rows of Miracle Gel polishes had shades from the Desert Oasis collection, which I only know the name of because it was on the insert section of the core display at an Ulta store (all but two of the shades were sold out or not yet stocked there). Top row: Lookin Fly for a Cacti, Been There Dune That, A Hot Minute, I Don't Desert You, Cactus Makes Perfect. Bottom row: Knowledge is Flower, Desert Reign, Oaseas, Sun-Shower (not part of Desert Oasis), (random yellow in slot for Shock & Mauve, niehter part of Desert Oasis). The other rows were core colors, base and top coat.

 

The InstaDri tray had a few core colors along with the Getaway collection of new shades (that portion shown closer below): Catch Me If You Clam, Beach You To It, Traveling Light (slot empty), Up In the Clouds, Slow M-ocean, Mint Me in St. Louis, C-hill Out, Later Alligator.

 

A different Walmart had the Sally Hansen Perfect Manicure nails incorporated into the regular nail supplies section, including more of the coffin shaped ones than I'd seen before. Left to right: French Twist, Leaf Me Be, What the Shell, Meet Me in the Metal, Hyp-nautical, Onyx-pected (hiding in back).

 

For Easter, Sally Hansen Insta Dri has a Peeps collaboration. I saw this tall freestanding display at Walgreens. It had the Peeps polishes plus some core colors. The Peeps solid colors are textured, specifically "sugar texture".

And here are the polishes that got me excited about polish in a way I haven't been in a while: the Salon Perfect Flash collection at Walmart. These are seven reflective glitters and when I saw swatches on Facebook I had to have them. Yes, indies have been doing reflective glitter for a while, but it's so hard to keep up with indies now that I've stopped trying. These mainstreams aren't as complex as most of the indies but they're way more accessible (though I did have to try a few Walmarts before I found them). Left to right: Flashing Lights, News Flash, Dream Gleam, Flash Dance, Make It Flashy, Shine and Dandy, Flash Back. There's also a texture smoothing topcoat called Glitter Gloss. Unlike most polishes I buy and then let sit for ages before I try them, my first pedicure after I bought these was Shine and Dandy, and Make It Flashy is on my toes as I type this. Even though it's winter, I often wear sandals in the house and seeing these polishes catch the light has been quite delightful.

 

Like last summer, I didn't see any seasonal Studio M displays at Meijer on my trip, but there were more "fancies" at the $6.49 price point than I saw back then. I think these are all holos. Left to right (two slots for each color): Constellation Queen, Worlds Apart, Miss Universe, Super Star.

Ski season ended yesterday, and I've got a few weeks before I have any significant travel planned, so I'm hoping to do some swatching in this less busy lull, but we'll see if that works out.

Big Display Catch-up

I need to paint more wheels before Nail Wheel Wednesday can resume. Today I've got displays collected both close to home and on my travels. It's been ages since my last display post back in June, so let's get going. I've been in a few Walmart stores lately, but only one them had a display for Bettina, a brand I don't recall seeing in a quite a while. This was pretty picked over, with colors in the wrong slots, but I still thought it was interesting.

 

One Walmart I was in had a display of various Dashing Diva nail strips, some with Halloween designs.

 

Also at a Walmart, I saw a new to me brand: Entity Clean. The bottles say they're breathable, so guessing they're like the Orly Breathable line. The ones I saw were shoved in a display for other brands, and I never found their proper place, so I'm not sure how many shades there might be total. The ones I did see: Pure Allure, Let's Be Honest, Light & Love, Lady in Pink, Top Coat, and Black Silk.

 

As far as I can tell, Essie's Handmade with Love collection came out this past summer, but I don't seem to have included it in a display post before. The best shot of it I have is this display at a Meijer I was in during my travels, which had the colors right next to those in Swoon in the Lagoon. Left to right: Piece of Work, Paintbrush It Off, Cut It Out, In Pursuit of Craftiness, Pencil Me In, Sew Gifted, Crochet Away, Handmade with Love, To DIY For. I did also see a display for this collection at Ulta which was seven slots wide and had the red/orange shades in the back.

 

Essie's fall 2022 offering is Off the Grid. I saw it first at Fred Meyer, where they'd tucked it under the fake nails for some reason. Left to right: Force of Nature, Risk-Takers Only, Hike It Up, Bold & Boulder, Off the Grid, Transcend the Trend. I've also seen the collection at Walgreens.

 

Fred Meyer had two shelftop displays of Halloween fake nails. This one has the imPress designs (and one set of nail strips from Kiss that maybe got misplaced).

 

And this one has the Kiss designs (and one Fright Night by Ardell set stuck in there that I never saw a whole display for).

 

At one of the Walmarts I was in, there was a section in the core nail polish area for Just Add Sun polishes, which change colors in the sun. There's space for 24 colors, though not all of them were there when I happened upon them.

 

You may recall the Kokie Green polishes I've shared this year. I did finally see them in the wild at a few Meijer stores in the Great Lakes states.

 

I try to remember to check the LA Colors section at Fred Meyer as that's where they slip in new stuff rather than have separate shelftop displays. This time the new stuff was Color Mania, some bright pearly shimmers. Left to right: Fandom, Hooked, Super Bloom, Squeeze, Fanatic, Chaotic, Lyrical, and Culture (of course the purple is sold out, so I'll have to check back).

 

I usually see Morgan Taylor at Sally Beauty if I see if anywhere, but this Plaid Reputation display was at Fred Meyer. Six shades: Follow Suit, Tartan the Interruption, Tailored for You, It's All About the Twill, Wool You Love Me, Tweed Me. I did later see a display of this collection at Sally Beauty, too.

 

I only managed to see one post-worthy thing at a CVS, four Poparazzi polishes in that uppper right section of the display where they seem to put the small seasonal offerings. The four colors here: Curfew, Snow Dusting, Into the Fog, and Not Your Basic Blue. Seems like more a winter set than summer but who knows how long they were there.

 

I got to pop into a Five Below store on during my recent travels and found a couple Pretty Woman displays I hadn't seen before. The first was Jelly Glaze. Six shades here: Royal Navy, Orange Crush, Yelly Jelly, Forest Glaze, Passion Fruit, and Mint for You. The two greens look very similar in the bottle, but I checked that they had different items numbers so can only assume they look different on the nail. I won't know because in a suprising turn of events, I didn't buy any of them, remembering how very many jelly polishes I have at home that I don't use much.

 

The second was the mostly empty Glow in the Dark, which was down to one polish of the six names on the display. The one color was in the slot for Light Show. The empty slots were Glow Up, Let's Rave, Luminous Ice, Flash On, and Fluorescently You.

 

I keep being thankful for Sally Hansen. Maybe they're not coming out with new lines as often as they used to, or quite as many special collections, but they haven't given up entirely the way other brands have. This past summer, they came out with another limited edition neon collection in the Miracle Gel line, Make Your Mani Pop. I saw it at both Ulta and Walmart, in a separate area of the core section. Bottles at Ulta, left to right: Un-cone-ditional Love, Worth Melting For, Anything is Popsicle, Lemon Drop Pop, Sea-riously Cool.

 

The one polish missing from the Ulta display above is a topper called My Flavourite, seen here at Walmart.

 

At a Meijer on the road, I saw a Sally Hansen display I haven't seen anywhere else, though I have seen the polishes tucked into core displays at places like Walgreens and Ulta. It had Covergirl makeup on one half and Sally Hansen on the other: Color Foil, Insta Dri Luxe Finish, Xtreme Wear, treatments and top/base coats.

 

The Luxe Finish Insta Dri shades were the most interesting to me. There were eight of those: Triple Threaqd, Silk Is, Glos-Sea, Sleek-a-Boo, Spill the Velvet-ea, Lavish Lilac, The Queen's Velvet, and Extrava-grey.

 

In late summer, Sally Hansen put out the Back to School limited edition Insta Dri collection, another collaboration with Sour Patch Kids. I saw this at Fred Meyer in a display that also had the Luxe Effects in it and a few core colors, too. The Sour Patch are in the front row, starting after the empty slot: Main Squeeze, Tis the Sea-sun, Your Pine-ness, Tropink, Plum-believable, Maliblue Twist, Pink Punch. Based on the little circles of color on the display board, I could see there were two Sour Patch colors missing from here. Some online research told me they were Red Berry, a red shimmer, and Simply Sublime, a pink/blue/yellow glitter topper, which I then ordered online.

 

In stores now, there's a ten-color limited edition Miracle Gel collection for The School for Good and Evil. This shelftop display was at Fred Meyer. Left to right in the front row (the back is core): Can't Settle Won't Settle, Fresh Villany, It's Better Being Bad, Magic Mirror, Lesso Go, True Beauty Comes from Within, The Storian, Not What It Gleams, Lovey Dovey, Good is Great.

There's also an Insta Dri Glow in the Dark collection out now for Halloween. I saw it first at Sally Beauty. Front row, left to right: Purple Potion, Witch Please, Creep It Real, Squad Ghouls, Fa-boo-lous, Ghosted. Back row: Gourd-geous plus core colors Black to Black, White on Time, Clearly Quick, Hail Cherry, and Cinna-snap. A couple of these limited editions (Creep It Real and Fa-boo-lous) look like repromotes, though the bottles are a bit different.

 

I also saw a standing display for these at Walmart but it was very picked over by the time I got to it.

 

The Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Hispanic Heritage Month display is all core colors, but it's more than any other brand did as far as I know.

 

There are three new Miracle Gel toppers in addition. So far I've only seen them tucked into the core section. Here they are at Meijer: Crystal Top Coat, Sugar Top Coat, Unicorn Top Coat.

 

I was surprised to see a Salon Perfect Halloween display at my local Walmart just a few days ago, as they've had Halloween stuff out for weeks. Guess this just showed up later; it was in the beauty section rather than the seasonal area. It's called Bewitched and has fake nails, core and limited edition polishes, and false lashes as well as Fright Night colored hairspray.

 

The ten polish slots were nicely labelled. Four core at the left side: Crystal Clear Top Coat, Oil Slick (black creme, missing here), Heart Strings, and Traffic Cone. Six limited edition next to those: Alien Apple Bobbin', Head in the Stars, On My Milky Way, I Need Space, Universe-al Glow, and Celestial Chic (empty). The next day, I had to go down to the city and saw this display there (in the seasonal section). It was more picked over but did have Celestial Chic, which turned out to be a red polish. I was hoping for purple but oh well.

 

Walmart once again had the big four-sided Halloween display with SinfulColors and LA Color polishes, Kiss and imPress fake nails, and false eyelashes.

 

The interesting thing on the SinfulColors side was buried in among the core colors and Sheer Mattes and Essenchills that we've seen a lot of, there were the Bee Envious shades, only two of which were ever in any of my stores before.

 

I never saw all of the Bee Envious in one store; the most I found in one place was five: Busy Being Queen, Amazzzing, Buzz Off, She Stings, and Save the Bees. The one I had to dig out at another store was Honey Child, a pale peach.

 

The LA Colors side looked to have mostly the same things as last year.

 

The fake nails side had most (maybe all?) of the designs that were in the displays at Fred Meyer from earlier in this post plus some plainer colored ones.

 

Remember when Wet 'n' Wild would have a special collection nearly every month? That's been a while. Now we're lucky if we get one set of fake nails, as with this Care Bears collaboration I saw at Fred Meyer.

 

 

There was also one set of fakes in the Wet 'n' Wild Halloween display at Meijer. See if you can spot them.

 

Well, that was a lot. I've bought a fair few polishes from these displays so hope to get some swatching done soon.
