A couple weeks ago, I shared two shades from Barielle's Gem Stone Earth Collection for Spring 2012 (and their friend Buddha-ful). Today I've got the other three shades in the collection, also courtesy of Barielle.
I started my swatching of this group with Back to Nature, a peachy creme. I used two coats of this (no topcoat) and had no issues with application. I did add a couple coats of Buddha-ful to an accent nail to distract myself from pondering whether this went with my skintone or not. I tend to think it would look better on someone less pale and rosy-toned than I am.
I used the other two colors together. Green Opal is an olive shimmer with sparkly flecks. Granite Glitter is a charcoal shimmer with frosty tendencies. Both were two coaters.
I was underwhelmed by Granite Glitter, mostly because the name promised sparklies that the polish did not deliver.
Green Opal, on the other hand (well, the same hand, but you know what I mean), I was quite taken with. There's some nice depth to its sparkle, for sure.
These are available on the Barielle website for $8 per .45 fl. oz. bottle, though they do have sales now and again.
The polishes shown in this entry were provided free for review purposes. The content of the entry was not dictated by the provider.
I very much like Green Opal! I might have to seek that one out next time there is a sale.
ReplyDeleteOoh pretty. I really like Back to Nature...looks great with the flakie
ReplyDeleteYou have started a craving for Barielle in these posts, siiigggh, and I was ALMOST done shopping for a while, at least that's what I thought ;)
ReplyDeleteThat Green Opal is lovely. I'm not really one for nudes, and the silver/grey just isn't speaking to me.
ReplyDelete... then again, that's how I felt about the Heavy Petal collection from Jessica until I got it. :)
I think Back to Nature looks beautiful on your skin! I really like it with the flakies!
ReplyDeleteI like the first one! Peachy polish is very pretty.
ReplyDeleteBack to Nature is a great name for that nude. I think it looks good on you. And the accent nail is subtle enough that it could be appropriate for almost any occasion. Green Opal is beautiful too.
ReplyDeleteI think this colletion is kind of boring. I think the granite looks really good on you!It would have been good during the holidays.
ReplyDeleteThe first one is so pretty, especially the ring finger!!
ReplyDeleteWhy am I thinking that Green Opal has been done before?
ReplyDeleteI really like Back to Nature. It goes so well with your skin tone. Love the flakies with it also.
ReplyDeletePeach with flaky = gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI really like Green Opal!
ReplyDeleteI think the nude color suits you fine! Love this color, and the flakies too!
ReplyDeleteThe Green Opal is definitely a stunner, I'll have to be on the lookout for that one... thanks for posting it!
