As I mentioned last year in my nail wheel philosophy and organization post, when I started this wheel swatching project of mine, I decided to do glitters by brand rather than color because so many of my glitters are multi-colored. I don't always have 20 from one brand to fill up a wheel though, so end up having multiple brands on a wheel and singletons or pairs from still other brands. It feels sort of messy, and if I had to start all over, I might try harder to sort glitters by color or at least color family. But no way no how am I starting over in the foreseeable future. I'm more than 2/3 done and must push ahead to the finish.
Numbers 5 through 20 have topcoat added to the coats of glitter noted below.
1. Unknown brand unlabeled color ice cream cone (3 coats) [these are so sheer and sparsely glittered they barely show up, but I bought them for the bottles so that's okay]

3. Unknown brand unlabeled color ice cream cone (3)

i absolutely love that you do this! such a great way to show the colors and all!
ReplyDeleteThose ice cream cones are adorable! Almost as cute as pumpkins and snowmen. I wonder do you paint the wheels each week, or prepare all of them in advance?
ReplyDeleteViktorija, I usually paint the wheels well in advance; I have quite a backlog of photos for future posts. I tend to do a bunch a one time when I have the house to myself for an evening--I can spread out my stuff on the kitchen table and watch some tv while I paint, usually something Mr. K is not into, like reality TV or DVDs with some eye candy in the form of someone like Alex O'Loughlin. :)
DeleteMy personal favorites are Sinful Colors Nail Junkie, Hottie, and Call You Later, which I actually just finished wearing. It's such a great green glitter. Oooh Nubar Purple Rain and Petunia Sparkle are gorgeous as well.
ReplyDeleteglitter! all beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteI love glitters. I love them all!
ReplyDeleteMmm.... glitter! Those ice cream polishes are adorable!
ReplyDeleteNubar Petunia Sparkle is a clear favorite, yummi :)
ReplyDeleteThe little cones are so cute! I just love glitter, makes me happy!
ReplyDeleteThose ice cream polishes are unlike anything I've ever seen! They're also ridiculously cute. Would definitely buy for the bottle alone.
ReplyDeleteI have a lot of the Sinful ones, and want even more of them now that I've seen them swatched ;) I've been thinking that I should do a post about Unsolved Nail Mysteries, I have a few polishes where I wish I knew the brand, who sold them, where/when they were sold, etc. Your cone polishes seem to fall under the same category. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the ice cream cone polishes! So cute haha :)
ReplyDeleteI like the cone polishes too. I had to giggle when I saw the photo because I thought of dunce caps right off.
ReplyDeleteI love that SC UFO. So beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSo many lovely glitters! I really like the ice cream cone bottles! So cute!
ReplyDeleteYou can't even imagine the threats my cousin did to me if I won't bring an ice cream bottle for her! XD
ReplyDeleteI just love those ice cream cone bottles! They are adorable! I want some! Are they older.
ReplyDeletebeauxs mom, I got the ice cream cone bottles last year at Meijer. I saw the same type of bottles with bright shimmers in them more recently at an outlet store (I want to say it was Burlington Coat Factory, but that might be wrong).
