Considering how resistant I was to trying the Sally Hansen Salon Effects strips when they first came out, it's sort of surprising that now I have very little trouble talking myself into using them, even when I'm not going on vacation and thus won't maximize my wear time. This particular week, my reasoning was I was very busy all weekend so wouldn't have time to do a regular mani and have it dry fully before bedtime on Sunday plus I had a busy week at work (every fourth week I'm pretty much stuck at my desk from 12:30 to 5:30 and can't work from home at all so don't have the the time I'd otherwise spend commuting for doing nail stuff). Strips to the rescue! I considering using one of the limited edition Christmas designs but decided I wanted to get more than five days out of those, so went with Laced Up, a black lace on beige design.
If you think you've seen these on me before, you have. This is my first repeat mani in quite a while. I'm better at applying these strips now than I was back then, so I didn't have any wrinkle-caused wear issues this time.
Before I took them off, I experimented with putting Essie As Gold as It Gets over the top, leaving one finger unchanged for comparison purposes.
Top nail is just the strip; this is four days wear at this point. Bottom nail has one coat of gold over the top.
I quite liked the effect with the gold—it was like a fancy lace evening dress for my nails.
This is great! I still have yet to use these strips!
ReplyDeleteVery Pretty!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea.. I like this look! I was thinking how it would work to add a top coat to these.
ReplyDeleteI am sometimes tempted by these, they do have some cool designs, but they're so expensive!
ReplyDeleteOh I like!
ReplyDeleteGreat pattern!
ReplyDeleteI love it!
Looking good! I wonder how long they're gonna last...
ReplyDeleteThat's one of my favorite designs! I am excited to try the new ones too! They look lovely on you and the Luxe Effects look good too!
ReplyDeleteI still want to try these, but they're not sold anywhere close, and it seems quite ridiculous to fly them half way round the world. Also I have recently tried Incoco strips and was disappointed. Hopefully these stay on longer.
ReplyDeleteI never grab any of these but they do look so nice! Since I suck at nail art, I should try these!
ReplyDeleteOmgg, sooo pretty!! I've been wanting this one for like, forever.
ReplyDeleteAnd the red one out now, too.
soo nice!
Hii, I wanted to let you know I nominated you for the Versatile blog award.
ReplyDeleteI still love the look of these strips. Have yet to try them out for myself, but I absolutely love this pattern!
ReplyDeleteI really like the result
ReplyDeleteit's really nice
Are you sure you hadn't worn these before? I seem to remember- maybe it was another blog! If I were to wear these this would be the design I'd pick! I love lacy things! Still wonder about you and commuting doing nail stuff!
ReplyDeleteThe lace design is so nice. I still have to try nail strips.
