I was hoping to get a display post up today, but I had an unwelcome visitor the past few days: my first migraine in years. It had been so long I thought they'd just gone away, but apparently not. If I hadn't had the nail wheel post drafted and ready to go for Wednesday, that wouldn't have gone up either. I'm mostly back to normal now, so I am at least able to get a quick Nails of the Day post done for today and will work on the displays for early next week.
When I saw Urban Decay Vintage polishes at Nordstrom Rack a while back for a good price, I bought all the colors they had, which was not quite the whole collection but definitely enough to make me happy. Recently I finally used one of them for a full mani, the bright blue shimmer UV-B.
I laid down Salon Sciences Starting Over Artificials as my base, then two coats of UV-B, then topped with Sally Hansen Diamond Flash Fast Dry Top Coat. I don't know if it was the formula of the Urban Decay or the interaction of that with the top and/or base coats, but this stayed dentable what felt like forever. There is some brushstrokey-ness to this, which I guess is fitting for a throwback collection.
There is a subtle purple flash to the shimmer that shows up slightly better in direct light:
I'd like to say I'll wear or at least swatch the other shades at some point, but with all the newer pretties I have in my queue, that's not really likely. Still, I'm glad I got them, and glad I didn't pay full price.
