Mustard is not one of the most flattering colors on me but I keep buying it because I am drawn to the odd and unusual.

Wet 'n' Wild Potassium-Rich and Miami Mami
Today I have some photos from ages ago that I never got around to posting, of two of the Wet 'n' Wild Fast Dry AF colors. Potassium-Rich (yes, the name has a hyphen; no, I do not know why), a mustard yellow creme, and Miami Mami, glitter topper with pastel matte hex glitter in various sizes and colors: yellow, orange, blue, and pink. I did three coats of the creme and topped with one of the glitter on all but my index finger.
Mustard is not one of the most flattering colors on me but I keep buying it because I am drawn to the odd and unusual.

Salon Perfect Bewitched Collection
Yes, Nail Wheel Wednesday is still on hiatus, and I'm still having trouble getting back into a regular blogging routine, but I'm here now with the Salon Pefect Bewitched colors from the Halloween display that showed up at some Walmart stores. Six shades here: On My Milky Way, Celestial Chic, I Need Space, Head in the Stars, Universal Glow, and Alien Apple Bobbin'. All of these are full cover glitter polishes, packed with small hex glitter in two colors.
I was pretty sure I wasn't going to be able to do full hand swatches of all six of these due to the time I had available, so I was glad that the collection naturally divided into two trios that I could swatch as groups. I started with On My Milky Way (white and gold glitters), Celestial Chic (red and gold), and I Need Space (black and gold). I did a not-quite-gradient on my index finger (over a skintone creme base) and three coats of each color individually on my other fingers, topping all with a clear topcoat. These were buildable to full coverage, as you see, though when I pull them out again I want to experiment with two coats over a base that matches the non-gold glitter as I think that will look just as good and be easier to apply and remove.
Then I gave the same treatment to the remaining three shades: Alien Apple Bobbin' (yellow and gold), Univers-al Glow (pink and yellow), and Head in the Stars (bright pink and silver).
I still love glitter, so am glad I was able to get these. I can see wearing the white, red, and gold through the winter then breaking out the three brights next summer.

Salon Perfect Dippin' Dots Collection
Continuing the "Easter in July" Skittles theme I started last week with Sally Hansen x Peeps, today I have the Salon Perfect Dippin' Dots colors, which caem out around the same time. These aren't necessarily Easter, though the palette does resemble candy eggs. I'm pretty sure I have similar colors from any one of a number of "soft neon" or "pastel neon" or "sunwashed neon" collections that have come out over the years, but the Dippin' Dots tie-in got me. It's been ages since I had any of that delightful ice cream of the future, so having the nail polish to look at is good. Top: Banana Split, Orange Creme, Strawberry Swirl, Birthday Cake. Bottom: Berry Freeze, Cotton Candy, Cool Mint, Lime Ice.
I wanted to try these over white, so I first grabbed two of the colors to try that. Left to right: Banana Split (2 coats), Banana Split (1 over white), Lime Ice (2 coats), Lime Ice (1 over white). The white made a slight difference, brightening the color a touch. The formula on these was a bit tricky; definitely pigmented but also a bit runny and didn't self level as well as I'd like. Still, not too hard to work with.
Then I got to Skittling, without the white base. Top to bottom: Banana Split (2 coats), Orange Creme (2), Strawberry Creme (2), and Birthday Cake (1 thick).
Now the cooler shades (all 2 coats): Lime Ice, Cool Mint, Cotton Candy, and Berry Freeze.
I don't think any of these are must haves, but I can see wearing them for summer pedicures.

Sally Hansen x Peeps Insta Dri Collection
Yes, Easter was a while ago, but I bought the Sally Hansen x Peeps colors and wanted to at least Skittles swatch them before they went into the queue to get on nail wheels. Left to right: PEEPS White, PEEPS Pink, PEEPS Lavender, PEEPS Blue, PEEPS Yellow, PEEPS Fruit Punch, PEEPS Sparkly Wild Berry.
I did the White, Pink, Blue, and Lavender together. They were what I expected from Insta Dri, plenty opaque in two coats. I'm sure I've bought the white at least a half dozen times now under new names each time it's re-released. That's okay. A good reasonably priced white is a good find. I probably have close enough shades for the others, maybe not all in the Insta Dri line, but didn't take the time to do comparisons because I didn't really want to know.
Sparkly Wild Berry is a topper with pink metallic and white matte hex glitters in various sizes.
I put one coat of Sparkly Wild Berry on top of the Skittles then added clear topcoat. The white glitter got lost on the white creme base of course, but on the other bases, Sparkly Wild Berry looked good.
Looking at the two cremes left, I didn't want to just swatch them on alternate fingers, and while Yellow would play nicely with Pink and Blue and Lavender, Fruit Punch seemed the odd one out. Then I remembered I'd bought Sprinkle Sprinkle, a crelly glitter with sky blue, soft orange, and golden yellow hexes in it.
I put Sprinkle Sprinkle on my index and pinky fingers, with Yellow and Fruit Punch in between. Neither of those cremes quite matches the glitter, but they both coordinate well enough. All were two coats.
I'm thinking I should do a couple wheels with Insta Dri cremes to carry around in my car so I can bring them into the store any time Sally Hansen does a new collection and perhaps not buy so many look alikes, but that probably won't work anyway. I have mostly managed to not re-buy the Pride colors every year, so that's something. This year I only got two, the orange and the brown. But that's another post, if I ever get around to it.

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Halloween 2021
There was no question that I was going to buy the new Insta-Dri Sour Patch Kids shades that Sally Hansen released for Halloween this year. That was more challenging than it might have been, since I had to get them from three different sources. Left to right: Full Moon (never saw this in a store, got from the Target website), Slime All Yours (Walgreens exclusive), Oh My Gourd, and Hallo-Queen (these last two were more widely available; I think I got mine at Bed Bath & Beyond but might be remembering that wrong).
Full Moon, a blue base filled with tiny white glitter, looked to me like a combination of two shades from last year's Halloween collection, so I had to pull those out to compare. One my index finger (top): Boo-lue (from 2020) topped with First Sour Then Sweet (2020, rereleased this year). On my other digits, three coats of Full Moon. So obviously Full Moon isn't quite the same blue at Boo-lue, being a touch more turquoise. Full Moon is also more sheer to let the glitter show through. It also lets some visible nail line show; I think I might try Boo-lue (or another blue) as a base under two coats of Full Moon next time I wear it.
Slime All Yours is a green microflakie shimmer with pops of blue and lime as well as a scattering of tiny white hex glitter.
I wasn't sure how sheer Slime All Yours would be, so I hedged my bets by doing another layering experiment on my index finger. So on my index (top) I have Hallo-green (green creme from 2020) topped with one coat of Slime All Yours, then on my other fingers I have three coats of Slime All Yours.
Oh My Gourd is a glitter topper with hex glitter in pale yellow satin and white matter plus tiny pale yellow satin glitter in a clear base. Just looking at it in the bottle, it didn't say Halloween to me, more like Easter, so when I tried it, I first did orange creme tips with Pump-kid (from 2020, rereleased in 2021), then put on two coats of Oh My Gourd. The look has a sort of candy corn vibe.
Hallo-Queen is a another glitter topper. This one has large and medium satin hex glitter in pale orange, medium hex glitter in black, and square glitter in silver holo.
I put two coats of Hallo-Queen over R.I.P.-urple (from 2020, rereleased in 2021).
There were also two glow in the dark shades in this year's Halloween display that fooled me into thinking they were new, because their names weren't on my spreadsheet, but when I got them home, they looked suspiciously like two shades from last year. Left to right: Glowing Night (2020), Creep It Real (2021), Fa-BOO-lous (2021), Happy Hollow-een (2020).
On the nails, top to bottom (all three coats): Glowing Night, Creep It Real, Fa-BOO-lous, Happy Hollow-een. The 2021 version of the pink seems a bit more pigmented than the 2020 one but not dramatically so. The two margarita colored ones are indistinguishable from each other.
In the dark, all four glow evenly.
Slime All Yours is the standout for me in this group. I do like the two glitter toppers, too.
