When I swatched the Barielle Vibrants collection in early April, I said I'd have their other Spring 2014 colors later in the month, as they'd sent those for review, too. Well, yeah, going to Belarus delayed that; I finally have the Velvets today. There are six shades here: Uptown Girl, Cream 'n' Sugar, My Tan Blazer, My Week Away, A Little Exotic, and Sexy Mood.
Cream 'n' Sugar (I added that second apostrophe; the label on the bottle says Cream 'n Sugar, and the website avoids the whole issue by calling this "Cream and Sugar") is a sheer light peach. I found it to be a tiny bit streaky at three coats; some of that is no doubt due to my nails having an uneven surface, so if I wore this again, I'd use a serious ridge filling base to help it level better.
My Week Away is a dusty rose with a subtle greenish gold shimmer. The base color pulls mauve/purple on me in indoor light. I used two coats for my swatch.

I combined My Tan Blazer, a camel creme, and A Little Exotic, a tomato red creme, in a freehand diagonal mani. Both cremes were two coats; I added topcoat mostly hoping the shiny would distract from my somewhat wobbly lines.
Sexy Mood is a warm purple creme and another two coater. For an accent nail, I dotted flowers with My Tan Blazer and My Week Away and then added topcoat.
Uptown Girl is a light peach; it's opaque in three coats.
To liven up Uptown Girl, I added dots with My Tan Blazer, A Little Exotic, and Sexy Mood. I used matte topcoat on three of my nails and regular shiny topcoat as an accent. I like this look better matte; what do you think?
