Pure Ice Blue Midnight and Glittery Friends

Today I've got three polishes from Pure Ice thanks to Lizzy of Lizzy's Place, who heard me whine more than once about not being able to find the Pure Ice holiday display and generously sent me one of the velours and two of the glitters to keep it company. Left to right below: Sea-quin, Blue Midnight, Treasure Hunt.

I reached for Blue Midnight first. Here's two coats, no topcoat of course (and not just because I was being lazy/fast this time, since it's a satin/matte finish and isn't supposed to get topcoat).

I thought this was gorgeous—a rich, deep blue with the added interest of the matte shimmer finish. It reminded me a lot of the OPI Suede colors.

Pretty as Blue Midnight was on its own, you know I had to try the glitter on top of it. I did two coats of Treasure Hunt plus topcoat on all but my ring finger, where I did one of Treasure Hunt plus one of Sea-quin plus topcoat. Treasure Hunt had warm green small glitter with larger lilac and teal diamond glitters. Sea-quin is a similar mix, but its small glitters are lime green and its diamonds are golden green holo. Over the blue, the green glitters took on a golden tone. The diamonds weren't especially hard to get out of the bottle, so that was nice.

All three of these are great polishes, and I'm happy to have them in my stash. Thanks so much, Lizzy!

  1. Oh my Blue Midnight is gorgeous!! OPI is the only brand that I found did a good job of the matte finish. I will have to keep my eye out for the Pure Ice matte's if these are similar!!
