I signed up for the Color Society Blogger Network and one of the polishes in the welcome package I got for review was Color Club Beyond, a black linear holo. I could see the rainbow in the bottle in regular room light.
I decided to do this as a full mani to give me a better opportunity of catching the sun at some point while wearing it, so I did my usual treatment and base followed by two coats of Beyond (it was nearly a one-coater) and one layer of top coat. In the lightbox, this mostly looked like a deep charcoal grey shimmer, and I was worried I'd messed up by adding the top coat (I think we've all known some finicky holos).
I stopped worrying a tiny while later, when I pulled my hand out of the filtered illumination of the lightbox into more direct room light and saw all the pretty colors.
I stopped admiring the rainbows long enough to look up and notice that the sun was actually shining, so I rushed outside to take more pictures.
I came in, but a little while later I went back outside because I just wanted to see more of Beyond in full sun.
I wore this for five full days of typing and digging around in my purse and my other usual activities. I got no chips, just some tipwear, which I was too lazy to touch up. Here's what this mani looked like just before I took it off (this was shot in the overhead light in my laundry room, which is usually where my purse and therefore camera get set down when when I come in the door at the end of the day).
I was quite pleased with the formula and wear of Beyond. It's not a high maintenance holo; my regular base and top coat worked just fine with it. I really appreciated that the rainbows flashed in all kinds of light. (It looked really good under my bedside lamp, and that did cut into my pre-sleep reading time as I waved my fingers around looking at the pretty colors). I'm so glad we're getting some decent holo polishes again.
The polish shown in this entry was provided free for review purposes. The content of the entry was not dictated by the provider, and I get to keep the polish for my own use.
I ended up buying this whole collection - these Color Club holos are now my favorite of all holos. They're so easy to use, and so beautiful!
