So I brought Rock home and slapped a few coats on a nail wheel, which I then held up next to my purple cremes wheel to decide which polishes to swatch it with and settled on China Glaze Grape Pop and Orly Charged Up.
I think these are near-identical triplets. Even a crazy purple lover such as me probably doesn't need all three.
Charged Up looks a touch brighter than the other two in these pictures, but I think that's just the lighting (see the difference between my index and ring fingers in the first pic, and those are both the same polish, same number of coats; I think maybe I need a more reflective surface at the top of my lightbox to balance things out a bit, but this isn't a photography blog so I'll stop nattering on about that).
I thought these purples would make a great base for the the Glam Nails Larissa that shortnails had asked for a swatch of, so I layered that on top, putting one coat of Larissa on my index and middle finger and two coats on my ring and pinky. Just look at the loveliness that resulted:
The flakies are similarly colored to Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure and GOSH Rainbow, but the purple base sets the Glam Nails apart from those two.
very pretty! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, those lovely flakies!
ReplyDeleteLarissa is an awesome flakie- I got a few backups because the bottles are so tiny ^^
ReplyDeleteThat's goodness indeed! Gorgeous purple as well :)
ReplyDeleteI love this flakie look. Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteGreat comparison. =)
ReplyDeleteCan't believe how close all three are! The flakies are so irresistible!
ReplyDeletethank you so much for the swatch. It reminds me of hidden treasure + Nfu-Oh 51 having a kid.
ReplyDeleteI will have to get my hands on glam nails for sure now.
Purple and flakies? It could NEVER go wrong! ^.^
ReplyDeleteI love colors :D
ReplyDeleteMy favorite color is purple :P
ohhh soo pretty! And it's a great idea to put the Larissa over a purple - I think I will try that soon, too! Thanks for sharing (:
