On the fourth day, I was ready for a change, but before I took Fig off, I tried stamping over it with Sally Hansen Chrome Nail Makeup in Ruby Chrome (which even though it's been long discontinued, I bought in a drugstore earlier this year) and one of the designs from Konad plate M21. You can see the tipwear on Fig wasn't too bad for four days of typing, and I only got a couple small chips on my non-photo hand (probably from distractedly using my nails to scrape off price stickers or something). I had some trouble getting the flower petals to transfer completely, and I still need to work on my centering skills, but I'm pretty happy with how it looks anyway.

I also completed a couple of swaps with other bloggers recently. Smita of My Nailz got me some American Apparel polishes, which I appreciated since there aren't any AA stores along my usual polish hunting routes, and I've heard some bad stories about their packaging from people who've ordered online. She also sent some pretty shimmery red violet polishes (and some candy, which I ended up digging into before I got around to taking these photos, so rather than include ripped open wrappers, I just posed the polish bottles).
Halifax of Sparkled Beauty sent Del Sol polishes, which change colors in the sun; I've got some old sun-activiated ones but haven't ever tried Del Sol so am looking forward to that. She also sent a Canadian exclusive Sally Hansen from the square bottle Salon days, the lovely Purple Heart.
Thanks, ladies!
Grape/purple appeals to me so much.

Fig looks great on you, Karen. I'm surprised you didn't have access to AA polishes, great that Smita took care of that :) Let me know what you think about Purple Heart
ReplyDeleteI love this dusty plum, and the konadicure! Those are some pretty Del Sol polishes!
ReplyDeleteI like the old Sally Hansen Salon bottles! I'd love to be able to do a swap someday, but right now I'm broke. =(
ReplyDeleteyay thanks for posting this Karen! it's so nice to see that my polishes made it in one piece (even though you told me, it's nice to see a picture!) hope you swatch them soon! and i LOVE fig on you!!! looks much better on your skin tone than mine!
ReplyDeleteJust a little heads up, the sweet serenity polishes are actually water based polishes. They don't dry and were meant for little kids. As far as I can tell they are just coloured white glue. So don't bother to wear them, use the bottles for frankening instead. I was super disappointed when I got them.
ReplyDeleteThat Joe polish reminds me of China Glaze Chanellesque. =) Pretty color.
ReplyDeleteThat fresh fig looks great. I could have a full drawer of dusted plums like this one ;)
